We are delighted to restore this existing house to its mid-century glamour.
The existing house features a sunken lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows that address the parkland gardens and mature trees. The extension sees courtyards that create focal points, planted with Ginkgo Biloba, and retained Japanese Maple trees set amongst ‘Japandi’ style pebbles and feature rocks.
Materials selected are sympathetic to the modern style of the existing house, along with low horizontal landscape elements that Frank Lloyd Wright might be proud of. Natural timbers, stone and a warm neutral colour palette will be offset by the incredible landscape design with an abundance of plants salvaged from the existing garden.
Private areas open up to the north, with upper levels gaining views across the treetops to Black Mountain. The upper windows also look over ‘green eaves’ below, inviting landscaped perspectives while shading the level below.
