Cottage Kitchen

The project focused on re-design and renovating the main living spaces, in particular the heart of the house, the kitchen.  Minor structural modifications were made, and an old electrical box relocated to allow the streamlining of spaces and to sneak in more storage capacity.  These small manoeuvres afforded more area for the kitchen and created highly functional spaces suited to modern living.

The renovation sits very comfortably within the existing home and is an exemplar of subtle and detailed design resolution. The joinery details and finishes have been well considered and selected to be sympathetic to the character of the existing house, which originally dates from the 1940s.  Retaining existing cornices, utilising handles with subtle flourish and detailing natural timbers combine to form a refined palette that is warm and welcoming
